The XPERIA X10 measures 119*63*13 mm and weight 135 gm and capable of displaying movies and photos in 262k colors on its high 854*480 resolution 4-inch screen.
While iPhone measures 115.5*62.1*12.3 mm and weight 135gm in16 million colors on 480*320 pixel resolution and 3.5-inch screen.

Both have ability to optimize web pages to fit the screen and zooming in and out of web pages is a breeze. Both are also slick in checking for or doing stuff. However, unlike Xperia X10 has a Webkit web browser, iPhone comes with Safari browser which doesn’t support Flash.

Hello my set up consists of the onkyo SR605 receiver the kef 3005se speakers and 1080p lcd. hdmi cable connected from blu ray player and ps3 to amp later hdmi out to tv. The problem i have is i can not select dts hd master audio on the amp. I own fantastic 4 rise of the silver surfer which has dts hd master audio capabilites but not sure how to catch the amp to decode it. I bought a Samsung DVD recorder r128 and i bought recordable Disks for it, so i used the disks and recorded things on the disks and they worked fine. But i recently bought a new pack of the EXACT same disks and when i put the in the Dvd recorder it says “Disk cannot be played, please check the disk”.

Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR-EX75. Does this have pause live TV feature?

Just got this DVD recorder and can’t work out how to pause live TV. Or record a program that has already started from the beginning of it. Instruction manual so complicated and doesn’t even mention pause TV – although it’s meant to have that feature. Help please!

M2TS files are used primarily with Sony hardware. Camcorders make use of M2TS in the form of AVCHD, a recording format made specifically for camcorders. Some camcorder models from Canon and Panasonic also use M2TS files. These files are also present on Blu-ray disc compilations, therefore they are capable of storing quite a large amount of information and data tracks. You may have considered burning M2TS to DVD which is compatible with your regular home DVD player. Step 1. Transfer Sony M2TS to computer

How come my Sony DVD recorder damages a R DL disc after several recordings?

I bought a Sony DVD recorder several months ago, and twice already I have had 2 discs damaged after making several recordings on them. They were both R DL discs, and after the unit was finishing a recording, I got a message that said “Disc Error” and the unit ejects the disc. I don’t know if the problem is with the brand I’m using, which is Verbatim, but it’s happened twice already after several recordings I made on these discs.
When I put several recordings on one Verbatim DL disc, I get a disc error message, in which the unit ejects the disc and shows a message saying that the disc is no longer playable nor recordable. I add several recordings to a Sony -R disc and I never have any problem with the disc getting damaged. But with the Verbatim DL, I’ve had 2 discs damaged when I kept adding recordings to them.

RW stands for REWRITABLE
DL stands for DUAL LAYER

You are getting an error because you are trying to write to a WRITE ONCE disc several times.

If you want a rewritable disc then find one with DVD+RW or DVD-RW.

Dual layer RW discs are expensive and unless you are storing 9 Gigabytes of data constantly it’s not worth it.

To not miss your favorite daytime soaps, you record and save them into your DVR (Digital Video Recorder) to be viewed at a more convenient day and time.  However, storage in your DVR is not inexhaustible.  You have a choice of either erasing your older recordings, moving them out of your DVR into DVD (Digital Video Disk) or miss the latest on who did what to whom.  If you opt for moving out, you are at a quandary as your DVR doesn’t come with a DVD recorder.  All is not lost as you can easily learn how to transfer DVR to DVD without too much of a headache.

An alternative to throwing out your current DVR and buying a new DVR with an in-built DVD recorder is the less costly option of purchasing an external DVD recorder.  When shopping around for a DVD recorder, it’s important to test and buy one that gives you quality picture and sound of the final DVD.  Buy the correct type of recordable DVD media of quality as the cheaper ones are prone to defects and tend to cause frustration when they jam during recording or lousy output.

Let’s move on from purchasing to connecting.  Stay focused, this is going to go fast.  Assuming there is prior connection from your entertainment media provider, may it be cable, satellite or antenna, to the DVR.  Connect the DVR to the DVD recorder, via audio and video cables, from the source’s output ports, namely the DVR, to the target’s input ports, namely the DVD recorder.  This method allows you to directly transfer earlier recorded or currently broadcasted shows to be burned onto DVD media.  A slight drawback to this method is that you have to know what the show is about.  Otherwise, you may be blindly sending unwanted shows for burning into DVD, thus wasting your media.

The solution is to obviously to watch the shows as they are sent from the DVR to the DVD recorder. Get another set of audio and video cables to connect the DVD recorder to the television.  In similar fashion as above, connect the DVD recorder’s output port to the television’s input port.  You can then easily halt the burning if the show’s not worth recording to DVD.

Once you finish burning the desired shows into the DVD, the last step is to finalize the DVD before removing it from the DVD recorder.  Skipping this step may prevent the DVD from playing on other DVD players.

As you can see, it’s not an impossible task to know how to transfer DVR to DVD.  Assuming you followed the rules but still can’t see the recorded shows when playing the DVD media, it’s possibly due to the television stations imposing some form of data protection on their channels and programs.

Basically, if you wanted to transfer your own VHS recordings of what you saw on TV, or even your commercially purchased tapes, it would not violate copyright legislation, and would be legal. There are situations that can fudge the issue, though. Fair use rights do not necessarily extend to each time a tape is copied no matter what. The method of the media transfer is a vital distinction to make.

The Digital Millenium Copyright Act was put forth in 1996 and combines a pair of treaties the World Intellectual Property Organization put forth into US copyright law. According to this legislation, it is illegal to create devices that are meant to get around copy protection put in place by companies. In a nutshell, taking out that DRM on your iTunes music or other media would be illegal, and a violation of copyright law.

Therefore, even though you can transfer media between formats, it is illegal to do so in a way that goes around the company’s individual restrictions on this process, regardless of the type, making it a very sticky situation to find yourself in. A large discussion is being held currently on whether or not fair use is being violated in this instance, and there will likely be big decisions made in the near future about this subject.

Fair Use

In American copyright legislation, fair use is defined as a method of using copyrighted material that doesn’t require you to ask the copyright holders for clearance. There are so many different situations that this applies to, it is within fair use to record programs from your television. Only America actually uses the term ‘fair use,’ but there are other nations that have a term similar to this; do your research in your home country to find the laws in that regard.

Macrovision is the type of copy protection mechanism put in place to prevent transferring of VHS tapes. Macrovision comes in the form of signals embedded into the tape that are meant to keep you from copying the media. If your receiver has a digital audio input for surround sound, connect it to the corresponding output to the recorder. If not, connect the stereo analog input.
